Campbell, CA - Dr. R. Laurence Berkowitz and the "power assisted nose job" is featured on KGO 7 News. A new instrument used in the procedure is helping to transform the conventional "nose job" as well as revision rhinoplasty procedures, says Dr. Berkowitz.
"Rhinoplasty was originally designed as a "reductive procedure" in which much of the nose's boney infrastructure was removed with saws, chisels and rasps," says Dr. Berkowitz. "This had been done from inside the nose by feel rather than visualization, so results were often unpredictable. Now, usually an "open approach" is used with fiberoptic lighting, magnification and greatly refined instrumentation," says Dr. Berkowitz. "A constructive approach to rhinoplasty can be individualized to each patient’s needs."
The story shows how the new instruments are used and results of the rhinoplasty procedure with one of Dr. Berkowitz' patients.
